1. Who we are

Etse Nail Studio ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at etsenailstudio.com and a physical studio in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We are the data controller responsible for your personal information.

2. Legal framework

We handle your personal data in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, including Article 26 of the Federal Constitution (the right to privacy), the Personal Data Protection Proclamation No. 1321/2024, the Electronic Transactions Proclamation No. 1205/2020 and the Computer Crime Proclamation No. 958/2016.

3. Information we collect

• Account & booking details: name, phone number, email address, password (stored encrypted), appointment history and notes.
• Service preferences: services and add-ons selected, any inspiration images you choose.
• Technical data: device identifier, IP address, browser type, pages visited and approximate time on site, collected via cookies and analytics.
• Communications: messages you send to us by email, phone or social media.

4. How we use it

We use your information to:

• create your account and authenticate you;
• process and confirm bookings, send appointment reminders and reschedule / cancel notifications;
• respond to your enquiries;
• operate, secure and improve the Site (including fraud prevention);
• comply with our legal and tax obligations under Ethiopian law.

5. Legal basis

We rely on (a) your consent when you create an account or opt into a communication, (b) the performance of a contract to deliver the booked service, (c) our legitimate interest in running and protecting the Site, and (d) compliance with law where retention or disclosure is required.

6. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• service providers that host the Site, process bookings, send emails or run analytics on our behalf, under written confidentiality terms;

We keep personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out above, or as required by Ethiopian tax and commercial laws (generally 5–10 years for transactional records). Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted on request, subject to legal hold.

9. Your rights

Subject to Ethiopian law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate data;
• request deletion of data we no longer need;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

10. Security

We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage of passwords, role-based access controls and ongoing monitoring. No system is completely secure; please use a strong password and notify us if you suspect any compromise of your account.

11. Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies necessary for the Site to function, and privacy-friendly analytics (Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation) to understand traffic patterns. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time; some Site features may not work as a result.

12. Children

Our services are intended for adults. Clients under 18 may book a service only with the consent and presence of a parent or legal guardian.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was most recently revised. Material changes will be communicated on the Site.
